ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station kicks off the fall season with fun ways to stay connected and learn something new throughout the month. Latin dances, international exhibitions, and arts and crafts workshops are just a few of the things to check out this month.
San Diego Watercolor Society International Show
The San Diego Watercolor Society will be holding its 41st International Expo until October 31.
The international exhibition has been the highlight of the year for the San Diego Watercolor Society for more than three decades, attracting hundreds of water-based media artists from around the world with accepted artists eligible for various awards.
Accepted paintings can be purchased through the online store of the San Diego Watercolor Society. The 41st International Exhibition is presented by a jury of award-winning watercolorist Michael Holter, known for his vibrant watercolor portraits, captivating landscapes and workshops.
San Diego Ballet Season Begins With “Ritmos Latinos”
The San Diego Ballet is celebrating Latin music this fall with “Ritmos Latinos,” a show combining Latin rhythms and ballet. This annual program celebrates Latin music and dance equally and features two of San Diego Ballet’s audience favorites in one program.
Let yourself be carried away by the evocative and romantic Que Bonito Amor (How Beautiful is Love) on a delightful score by Mariachi. Mambomania, one of the flagship works of artistic director Javier Velasco and the flagship piece of the San Diego Ballet, is set to the music of Velasco’s childhood and danced with great dynamism.
Performances will take place at 2:30 p.m. on October 30-31 and November 6-7 in the scenic Ingram Plaza at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station, allowing the public to enjoy the performances outdoors. To purchase tickets, click here.
