“Perceive with Caution” An Exhibition of Merging Concepts at the Kennedy Museum of Art at 9 a.m., hosted by the Kennedy Museum of Art, 100 Ridges Circle. Visit the Kennedy Museum to see the âPerceive With Cautionâ art exhibit developed, curated, designed and installed by students. Mixed media on canvas: the art of Robin Brigante at 9 am, hosted by the Athens Public Library, 30 Home St. See multimedia works by local artist Robin Brigante. After Brigante was injured in a car accident that left her paraplegic, she began to explore the arts and crafts. Since then, she has created murals, painted furniture and jewelry. Brigante’s art will be on display at the Athens Public Library until July 30.
People on Paper: The Art of the Paper Doll by Vivian Huggins at 9 am, hosted by Athens Public Library, 30 Home St. Explore Vivian Huggins’ paper doll artwork. Huggins has been creating paper dolls for a long time, using pen and watercolor paints. His subjects range from historical figures to make-up figures. Huggins’ art will be on display at the Athens Public Library until July 30.

Athens Farmer’s Market at 9 a.m., hosted by Athens Farmer’s Market, 1002 E. State St. Shop for locally grown and produced food and produce at the Farmer’s Market. The market accepts SNAP, credit cards and the healthy wave. Masks are recommended and social distancing protocols are in place.
Athens city fireworks display at 10 p.m., hosted by the city of Athens at the end of East State Street. See the 4th of July fireworks at the annual Athens event. Support for the event comes from Jerry’s Fireworks, the Athens Fire Department and the Athens Police Department. The Athens City Pool will also be free on July 4 during normal swimming hours. Thunder in the Valley 2021 at 10 p.m., hosted by the City of Nelsonville at the Hocking College Campus, 3301 Hocking Pkwy., Nelsonville. Celebrate July 4th with fireworks at Nelsonville’s Thunder in the Valley 2021. Parking for the show is available at Hocking College, but the fireworks will be visible over the surrounding hills of Southeast Ohio. The Nelsonville Fire Department sells VIP parking passes for the fireworks show for $ 10 and VIP passes for $ 3 per person.
