Windows 11 Dev Channel Insiders Begin Receiving All-New Paint App

As Microsoft’s Windows 11 public release neared, the company began rolling out the various redesigned and updated apps to its Insider channels. For example, days earlier, the new Photos app made its way to the Beta and Release Preview channels, and earlier today the company announced that the revamped version of its popular Paint app had started rolling out to the Dev Insiders channel. Therefore, insiders who are currently using the Dev Channel version of Windows 11 should be on the lookout for the new Paint application on their systems.

Microsoft’s Panos Panay had already teased the next app and we already knew that the new Paint is undergoing a design change to match the general Windows 11 theme of rounded corners and the look of the Mica material.

According to Microsoft, the most striking change in the new Paint application is the revamped toolbar which has now been simplified “with updated icon designs, a rounded color palette, and a new set of drop-down menus for tools such as brushes, stroke size, and flip / rotate controls “. A new text tool has also been added.
